Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus S7500, a Better Galaxy S5830?

After the impressive success of Galaxy Ace S5830, Samsung has introduced its replacement with more improved features and some serious specifications. The new replacement maintained Ace’s stylish design though with a considerable makeover in features and hardware. Of course such improvements will attract additional bucks though not as much as one would imagine. As far as we know, the handset maker is keen to keep it within the mid-range genre, an indication of slight price variation with its older sibling. Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus S7500 comes with a slightly larger 3.65inch HVGA LCD display screen and a more powerful 1GHz processor compared to its predecessor’s 3.5inch screen and 800MHz processor speed. In addition, its exterior also received a makeover from a matte finish witnessed on the earlier version to a glossy finish.

From my earlier review of Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830, it was undoubtedly clear of the compromises which were made to a achieve its attractive price tag; however, it will be very interesting to see the retail price of Galaxy Ace Plus S7500 given it falls under the same genre as its predecessor, at least from the official press release. As of now, the earlier Galaxy Ace S5830 is retailing in Kenya at Kshs.30,000 (Safaricom shops) and Kshs.25,800 (GBS home shopping), we can only hope and wait since Galaxy Ace Plus S7500 is yet to officially hit Kenyan stores; however, it shouldn’t exceed Kshs.40,000. Apart from the glossy exterior finish which physically distinguishes the two, the rest of its hardware are fairly at par with its predecessor. Just like its predecessor, vital features were preserved on Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus S7500 as least important specifications were eliminated; low resolution drawback was carried forward, though its screen is still crisp enough to afford normal web browsing experience with clear and readable text.
Am yet to ascertain whether flash video feature (necessary to play video clips via web browsers) was addressed given the processor speed; however, you can still play video clips via Youtube. Despite its plastic body, Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus S7500 should still feel sturdy enough to assure some degree of protection just like its sibling. It would be interesting to see the battery performance given impressive scores recorded by Galaxy Ace S5830considering its processor power.
